XTOOL D7W

Tool worked very well helped find obd2 faults also other faults such as a bad ignition switch in a rv . I also liked the bidirectional control do not be without it. this Xtool is easy to work with it is well made the cass is vary good .One minor complaint I wish it had 12vdc car adapter other than that for the home mechanic this is grate !

The product seems to work well and will be very helpful for me working on my vehicles. Its great that it has such flexibility with nearly all makes and models of vehicles.
The customer service has been great too and has been very responsive.

I have 3 different cars.
1. 2014 Dodge Charger
2. 2010 Dodge Charger
3. 2019 Chrysler 300C
This tool is more than what I expected. I love it for all the option it has to offer. This tool is awesome. I needed to program a new key fob for my 2014 dodge charger . I read that Chrysler made this car where you had to take it to the dealer to get it programmed because people weren't able to get the smart key security code. On YouTube there was not a single video showing you how to get that code nor a scanner video. But the tool was able to pull the smart key security code and enabled me the program it in just 10 minutes after I figured out push the read code during key fob reprogramming. The more I use this tool, the more I am amazed at what it can do.

It works good, has more features than I expected. However the readout may not be what you like.

So why did I buy the D7W vs the others. For the $400 to $600 range they all share many of the same features. I chose it so I could diagnose my cars and fix what I want or take it to the mechanic. I use it on older cars around the 2000-2010 range. My car is a slow talker, but that's not the fault of the scan tool. Support even let me know there were some updates that may help. It has already paid for itself.

Construction of the D7W is excellent. I take good care of my scan tools so I don't see any problems happening in the future.

In the end I was deciding between 2 scan tools. Both are Android tablet based and have lithium ion batteries. Now if the tool is used daily then the battery will typically have a 3 to 5 year life. The D7W comes with 3 years of updates. That matches nicely with lithium ion battery lifespan. If after 3 years the battery looks good I'll purchase another year up updates. That was the final thing that lead me to the D7W.
